Director’s Welcome

WELCOME TO YELLOW UMBRELLA

Steve Maraboli speaker and bestselling author once said; “I don’t want my life to be defined by what is etched on a tombstone.

I want it to be defined by what is etched in the lives and hearts of those I’ve touched.”

If there are three things that have defined my life to this point and about which I am passionate, they are 1. human development, 2. problem solving and 3. service. I believe that innovation is the thread that links all three together.

Innovation speaks to the creation of a new product or service, the expansion of a product or service already in existence or the combination of existing concepts into something new.
Yellow Umbrella Valet Service represents the latter.

The innovation Conference held in Port of Spain, Trinidad in October 2014 proved to be the catalyst for my idea of providing a service that can address the challenges that guests of events in Trinidad and Tobago face on a regular basis.

We are all familiar with stressors such as:
. Returning to a space where your car was parked and finding an empty space or another vehicle in the . space,
. Walking what appears to be miles in our best heels (ladies), outfit and make up, only to arrive at the venue a little worst for wear,
. Driving around for what seems like hours searching for a parking space,
. Missing some important part of the event because you were looking for a park,
. Having to venture to isolated car parks after hours to retrieve your car,
Being too drunk to drive.

Therein was born the idea of a service that would allow me to marry my 3 passions.
. Human development – Through selection of the right persons and training , I have the opportunity to make my dent in changing the customer service landscape in Trinidad & Tobago,
. Problem Solving – The valet service will provide a solution to the challenges mentioned above and more
. Service – Through our service, we will go beyond expectations by creating a whole new client experience

With Yellow Umbrella, customers/guests will now arrive at a venue entrance and be greeted by our helpful and pleasant staff.
They will have their car parked and then returned to them after the event in the condition that it was left.

It is our aim to be your personal parking host™.
To deliver on our promise, we have hand-picked and trained our staff to serve you.

I close with the words of Jeff Bezos, American business magnate; “We see our customers as invited guests to a party, and we are the hosts. It is our job every day to make every important aspect of the customer experience a little bit better.”
